CLP – Classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures
The CLP Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008) aligns old EU legislation with the globally harmonized chemical classification and labeling system GHS, a United Nations system to identify hazardous chemicals and users to inform about those dangers. The regulation is also related to the REACH regulation. The CLP Regulation entered into force on January 20, 2009 and has gradually replaced the classification and labeling of the Dangerous Substances Directive (67/548 / EEC) and the Dangerous Preparations Directive (1999/45 / EC). Both directives were repealed on 1 June 2015.
